The Offline Supermarket Manager is responsible for the overall performance of multiple offline supermarket locations, managing stores through Store Supervisors and Team Heads
The role is accountable for ensuring stores achieve operational, commercial, customer, inventory, and people targets while maintaining consistent standards across all locations.
Key Responsibilities
1. Multi-Store Operations Management
Oversee daily operations across multiple supermarket locations.
Ensure consistent execution of SOPs and operational standards.
Monitor store performance and identify underperforming locations.
Conduct regular store visits and operational reviews.
Follow up on corrective action plans and critical issues.
2. Performance & KPI Management
Monitor daily, weekly, and monthly store KPIs.
Compare performance across stores and identify key gaps.
Conduct regular performance reviews with Supervisors and Team Heads.
Define improvement actions and ensure timely closure.
Report key risks, trends, and performance updates to Senior Management.
3. Sales & Customer Experience
Monitor sales performance against targets.
Identify operational issues impacting sales.
Monitor customer complaints, service quality, and checkout experience.
Ensure corrective actions are implemented for recurring customer issues.
4. Inventory & Availability
Monitor product availability and Out-of-Stock levels.
Review replenishment and ordering performance.
Control inventory accuracy, expiry, waste, and shrinkage.
Ensure proper FIFO / FEFO execution.
Coordinate with Commercial, Supply Chain, and Planning teams to resolve inventory issues.
5. People & Workforce Management
Lead and develop Store Supervisors and Team Heads.
Set clear performance expectations and provide regular feedback and coaching.
Monitor Headcount, staffing gaps, absenteeism, overtime, and productivity.
Support workforce planning and resource allocation across stores.
Identify high-potential employees and support succession and internal promotion.
6. Cost & Productivity Management
Monitor labor cost, overtime, waste, expiry, and shrinkage.
Identify productivity improvement opportunities.
Optimize workforce utilization without compromising customer experience or operational quality.
7. Problem Solving & Stakeholder Management
Act as the main escalation point for significant store issues.
Conduct Root Cause Analysis for recurring problems.
Coordinate with HR, Recruitment, Commercial, Supply Chain, Finance, Facility, IT, HSE, and other support functions.
Maintain ownership of issues until effective resolution.

The Offline Supermarket Manager is the owner of overall performance across the supermarket network, while Supervisors and Team Heads remain responsible for day-to-day store and shift execution.
The role should focus primarily on:
Performance + People + Customer + Inventory + Standardization + Improvement
rather than personally managing every daily operational issue.
